What age groups do you teach?

We offer lessons for students of all ages, from children as young as 4 to adults, tailored to fit their skill level and goals.

Do you offer trial lessons?

No, but we offer a complimentary meet and greet for new students to meet the teacher, explore the studio, browse repertoire options and assess their interests and goals.

What styles of music do you teach?

We focus on classical training but are also open to teaching various styles based on students' interests. Some prefer popular & contemporary music while others prefer jazz & blues or classics throughout the decades. We are open to explore music genres and we love duets!

Do you prepare students for music exams?

Yes, we offer exam preparation for various piano examinations, including Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) exams.

What materials do students need to begin lessons?

Students should have access to an acoustic piano or fully weighted 88 key keyboard and may need to purchase specific music books and materials recommended by the instructor. We have a store in the studio for purchase of select method books, materials and music bags. Others may need to be purchased online or at a local music store, such as Long & McQuade or Tom Lee Music.

Are recitals & performances mandatory?

Recitals are a wonderful opportunity to showcase the hard work and diligent practice of our repertoire, but never mandatory with Kim's Piano Studio.

A student is welcome to perform OR to attend as an enthusiastic audience member.

What is the cost of piano lessons?

Pricing varies based on the age of the student, level of instruction and lesson duration. Please see Lesson Fees or contact us for detailed pricing information.

How often are lessons held?

Lessons are typically held once a week, but frequency can be adjusted based on the student's needs and availability.

Are the lessons in-person or online?

We provide both in-person lessons in my studio and online to accommodate different preferences and situations. Online lessons allow us to teach students in other cities and time zones. Many adults love online as there is no commute time to lessons.

Enrolling for piano lessons is a purchase of teacher and studio time. Your lesson time is exclusively reserved for you.
